Raindrop Practitioner & Specialist Designations

The Natural Therapies Certification Board (NTCB) is affiliated with The Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, Inc. (CARE) - a non-secular educational organization dedicated to assembling research and disseminating information on the healing properties and therapeutic applications of essential oils.

The focus of the program is to teach Raindrop Technique and associated skills, as originated and taught by D. Gary Young. This is accomplished through a series of courses that anyone can take. These include the Healing Oils of the Bible, Applied Vitaflex, Raindrop Technique, Emotional Release, Essential Oil Science and Chemistry, Basic Principles of Aromatherapy as well as Hands-on Practice and other Healing Skills.

CARE's complete Certification Program consists of 23 requirements (164 hours of training and testing) at which point one is eligible to become a Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) and Licensed Spiritual Healer (LSH). There is an intermediate level where one becomes eligible to become a Certified Raindrop Practitioner (CRP) and LSH where one only needs to compete the first 11 requirements of the CARE Certification Program (72 hours). The scope of practice is greater for a BCRS than for a CRP.

Full details of these designations are in the CCI Handbook, available from CARE by phone (800) 758-8629 or via internet in the Resource section of this website.

Once the first 11 requirements (72 hrs) are fulfilled, you are eligible to become both a Certified Raindrop Practitioner (CRP) and a Licensed Spiritual Healer (LSH). Once you have completed all 23 requirements of the CARE Program you are eligible to become both a Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) and Licensed Spiritual Healer (LSH).

The Raindrop Technique is a spiritual healing tool endorsed by the Spiritual Healers Licensing Board (SHLB) and other spiritual healer licensing boards. Those who are both CRP and LSH may legally pratice Raindrop in all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces. SHLB, and all the other boards accrediting by the Federation of Spiritual Healer Licensing Boards (FSHLB), requires CRP or BCRS certification if you intend to use the Raindrop technique in your spiritual pratice.

Descriptions of the two designations (CRP and BCRS) are given below:

CERTIFIED RAINDROP PRACTITIONER (CRP)

Participants who have satisfactorily completed the first 72 hours of the CARE Certification Program, which includes completion of the formal classes of a CARE Intensive (Reqs. 1-5, 25 hrs.), have completed the non-class practicums (Reqs. 6-10, 43 hrs.) and the Return Demonstration (Req. 11, 4 hrs.) have the option of applying for the Certified Raindrop Practitioner (CRP) designation. The Scope of Training for the CRP includes:

  • Applied Vitaflex . . . . . . 4 hours
  • Bible Oils . . . . . . . . . . . 2 hours
  • Raindrop I . . . . . . . . . . 4 hours
  • Raindrop II. . . . . . . . . . 4 hours
  • Chemistry I & II . . . . . . 6 hours
  • Emotional Release . . . . 5 hours

The Scope of Practice for the CRP includes:

  • Practice of Applied Vitaflex
  • Practice of Raindrop Technique

BOARD CERTIFIED RAINDROP SPECIALIST (BCRS)

Certified CARE Instructors (CCI) in good standing may apply for Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) certification. Scope of Practice for the BCRS is as follows:

  • Practice and teaching of Raindrop Technique
  • Practice and teaching of Vitaflex Technique
  • Anointing and teaching of the oils of scripture
  • Teaching the chemistry and science of essential oils
  • Practice and teaching of emotional releasing with essential oils

To practice raindrop legally as a CRP or BCRS without any other healthcare related license, you must also be a Licensed Spiritual Healer (LSH) under the auspices of the Spiritual Healers Licensing Board (ACHLB). CRP or BCRS validates your level of competence while LSH places your practice outside of health care regulation and puts it within religious practice, which is constitutionally protected.

You may apply for being both a CRP and LSH or BCRS and LSH on the same form, submitting the fee for both at the same time. Those holding certificates as a CRP or BCRS and a license as an LSH may practice raindrop legally in all 50 states and all 10 provinces of Canada. You are also eligible for liability insurance. See the current CCI Handbook for details.

Those who teach or practice Raindrop and/or Vitaflex as a CRP/LSH or BCRS/LSH must agree to use only Young Living essential oils as mentioned on the application form.

You may download an application through the links below or on the NTCB website.

CRP/BCRS FORM DOWNLOADS:

Initial designation of CRP or BCRS is good for two years. Renewal is contingent upon satisfaction of continuing education requirements and payment of renewal fees. CRP and BCRS certificates are issued immediately upon application. Before LSH is awarded you must complete the "Healer Coach Course" at http://.healercoach.com (5 weeks). To make CRP/LSH or BCRS/LSH permanent you must complete the Aromatherapy Intensive Workshop (AIW) (10 weeks) which raises you to the level of Certified Aromatherapy Coach (CAC). AIW is accessible through http://.aromatherapycoach.com.

These courses are taught via teleconference and are offered repeatedly throughout the year. Instructors for these classes will notify NTCB when you complete the Healer Coach Course. NTCB will then authorize the issuance of your LSH license, the fee for which you will have already submitted with your CRP or BCRS application. LSH is reissued annually and you will be notified by SHLB when renewal fees are due.

Full details are given in the latest CCI Handbook, pp. 52-53, 91-92 (15th edition, August 2008, and subsequent printings). Copies of the CCI Handbook are available through this website, or by calling (800) 758-8629.

All CRP/BCRS/LSH applicants must apply for directly through CARE, RR 4, Box 646, Marble Hill, MO 63764 with checks made out to CARE.
